The Department of Human Physiology was established in 1967 as one of the basic medical science subjects. Physiology is the study of the various normal functions of the body. In fact, Physiology is very important in Medicine because a medical doctor needs to know how normal body works before assessing pathological (diseased) conditions in order to take necessary therapeutic measures so as to restore normalcy to the body. Physiology of today is the medicine of tomorrow. The BSc (Hons) Physiology and Postgraduate degree programmes were started in 1987.
